Yandex Cloud x Andrey Berger x hevea
In collaboration with artist Andrey Berger a neural network became his co-author creating imagery alongside a human through a creative ping-pong-like communicative process. The result was a limited collection of physical and digital blankets symbolising the synergy between people and AI. We concluded the project with an exhibition at the Institute of Russian Realist Art followed by a permanent installation at the Yandex Museum.

Challenge
To create a memorable art project showcasing Yandex Cloud's capabilities in creative technologies and highlighting the potential of artificial intelligence as a media for human-machine collective creation.

Solution
We developed a concept of a co-author neural network with a help of a multimedia artist Andrey Berger — a concept of a machine learning algorithm capable of complementing and polishing a work of art alongside a human creator. The artist and the AI model structured their creative process by alternately adding strokes to the drafts producing unique hybrid imagery.
Outcome
A limited-edition collection of physical-digital blankets was created illustrating the collaborative result shared between the artist and the neural network. The blankets were presented to Yandex Cloud’s premium clients simultaneously fulfilling a role of an art object and a symbol of synergy between humans and AI. A joint exhibition was held at the IRRI, Moscow and an installation became a part of the Yandex Museum.
